Challenge
This 600-acre former steelworks was being transformed into a mixed-use development with housing. We were asked to provide earthworks solutions across a complex site with challenging ground conditions.
The ground conditions across the site were extremely challenging, with compressible clays and peat, legacy foundations, contamination and the widespread presence of slag. Our earthworks experts added value at every stage of this major regeneration programme.
Solution
Using our previous experience and expertise, we utilised a fleet of earthworks resource to carefully manage the earthworks process. In order to achieve the challenging programme we sitewide dewatering to enable multiple work fronts to be tackled simultaneously.
We assisted the Client’s engineer validate the work to achieve sign off from the appropriate regulators.
